Internet archives show that postings attributed to the Muslim Hackers Club first surfaced about five years ago. One 1998 posting by club leader “Ibn X” urged Muslim hackers to “Attack now: go, go, go: hit the enemy where it hurts.” Bush officials worry that Islamic hackers will sooner or later graduate from pranks and vandalism to cyber-terrorism. Computer terrorists, experts say, could cause widespread disruption, or even loss of life, by interfering with essential services like telephone networks and power grids....

The Israeli Health Ministry recorded more than 4,300 cases between July 2018 and July 2019, representing a monumental uptick from the year prior, when only about 30 cases were reported. Rotem Amitai, a 43-year-old flight attendant with El Al, died last month after reportedly contracting measles from a passenger in March. Amitai was admitted to Petah Tikva’s Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus with a high fever, then fell into a coma and had to be placed on a respirator....

And yet, there is reason to believe that things are about to get even worse. Israel’s ousted Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has returned to power with the help of the most far-right government in the country’s history. His election and his new governing coalition is nothing short of a gift to the extremists of both sides. The government’s agenda vis-à-vis the Palestinians is inflammatory and portends disaster. In a tweet summarizing the new government’s governing agenda, Netanyahu wrote that “the Jewish people have an exclusive and unquestionable right to all areas of the Land of Israel,” including the West Bank....

Reports had surfaced in Argentina on Tuesday that the match would be called off, with Palestine’s Football Association celebrating the news. Palestinian FA chief Jibril Rajoub had helped spark the controversy with his claims that fans should burn Messi photos and shirts if the Argentina star faced Israel in Jerusalem. And now the Israel embassy has confirmed the news, saying that civilians in the area are no strangers to the “threats and provocations” aimed at Barcelona star Messi....

Benny Gantz, a retired Israeli army general and the country’s minister of defense, told a local media outlet yesterday that a New Yorker report which said Netanyahu encouraged U.S. action against Iran was likely “not what happened.” “I don’t know of this story and I assume this is not what happened,” Gantz said in an interview, according to the Jerusalem Post. Gantz added that he would have been aware of such a move, and stated that the country should not urge the U....

One might expect that Israel’s plan would be hailed for advancing peace and the equal rights of Israelis and Palestinians alike. But the more common response of many so-called experts has been to distort the facts and preemptively condemn Israel. The distortions begin with the very words used to describe Israeli plans. Across platforms, “experts” fret over what they call “Israeli annexation.” As I explained in my 2014 book The Israeli Solution: A One State Plan for Peace in the Middle East, Israel cannot “annex” any part of Judea and Samaria....

It is especially irresponsible that the industry is downplaying the severity of youth e-cigarette use. From 2017 to 2019, e-cigarette use among U.S. high school students more than doubled, from 11.7 percent to 27.5 percent. While youth e-cigarette use declined in 2020, 3.6 million middle and high school students still used e-cigarettes—the same number that led the U.S. Surgeon General and FDA to declare an epidemic in 2018. It’s clear that kids aren’t just experimenting with e-cigarettes but using them regularly and becoming addicted....

Learning that its guidelines were being misinterpreted and misapplied, the CDC published an advisory in 2019, emphasizing that it never intended doctors to abruptly taper their patients from their pain medications, some of whom had been flourishing on high-dose opioid therapy for years, to its “approved” MME metrics. But the advisory was too little too late for doctors and patients in states where legislation was already in place. When a government agency “recommends” a policy, it’s akin to a recommendation from Tony Soprano; it is inevitably interpreted as a mandate, obeyed by state and federal agencies, health insurers, and even pharmacies....
