Posting to Reddit’s r/TrueOffMyChest forum, user u/housepartyended explained that his 9-year-old brother had moved schools and was struggling to make friends.

He wrote: “He still invited his whole class to his birthday party that was on Friday but nobody came. None of the kids. It was really heartbreaking seeing all the empty tables when he was really looking forward to it.”

However, his 27-year-old girlfriend came up with a plan that turned the birthday disaster into a party to remember.

He continued: “My girlfriend of four years decided to call her brothers asking them to come over, then she took off to go pick up her nephews. They’re a little older but still they were really nice to my brother.

“She called up her friends with kids. It wasn’t a ton of people but it was way more than before. All thanks to her.

“My little brother was so happy playing in the jumper with her nephews and brothers play wrestling with him. He had such a good time.

“It was nice that everyone came and was being so nice to him but I’m also just super grateful to my girlfriend because she made it happen.”

Concluding his post, the Redditor explained that her sweet scheme had made him sure she’s “the one.”

He said: “I was watching her that whole time going wow I wanna marry this woman. She’s the one for me. Now I’m literally browsing online for engagement rings.”

According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, roughly one in every five students has experienced bullying. While male students are two percent more likely to report being physically bullied, female students are nine percent more likely to find themselves the victim of gossip or rumors.

Female students were also more prone to being purposefully left out by others, with seven percent saying they’d been excluded from activities by their peers. However, four percent of male students also reported experiencing this behavior.

Research has shown a link between bullying and the likelihood of dying by suicide.

Along with an increased risk of depression, anxiety and sleep issues, bullied students are also more likely to drop out of school. The pandemic is believed to have exasperated the mental health crisis among young people, with lockdown rules leaving many feeling disconnected and alone.

Reddit users were touched by the woman’s thoughtful actions, with the post receiving 17,000 upvotes and 400 comments since being posted on June 20.
