MORE: The (most ridiculously hilarious) faces of the NCAA Tournament
Colby College’s Pat Dickert made the Internet lose its mind this week after posting a video on Instagram of him taking off the free-throw line and completing the holy grail of dunks.
The feat is so remarkable it demands an investigation.

Let’s begin with the goal — is it really regulation-height (10 feet)?
Dickert opens the video by standing under the basket and Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Mass., where he performed the dunk, confirmed the goal was regulation-height. Dickert doubled down and told CentralMaine.com: “I don’t even know how to lower a hoop.”
To further Dickert’s case, he posted a video of him attempting — and failing — the dunk three weeks ago at his home gym on a rim that appears to be fixed at regulation-height. So with a few more weeks of practice and squats, it seems possible Dickert could seal the deal.
Now, is Dickert really only 6-2?
Dickert is listed at 6-2 by Colby, and head coach Damien Strahorn confirmed it, telling CentralMaine.com he’s “no-taller.”

“The fact that he is able to physically take off take off from 15 feet away and stay in the air long enough to dunk it, it’s a very impressive feat. It’s pretty crazy,” Strahorn said about the junior. “To think about the athletes you see do it in NBA dunk contest, for him to do it at his size is remarkable.”

Was this is a fluke?
Simply put — no.
Dickert’s Instagram account is plastered with incredible dunk montages where he’s seemingly defying gravity over and over with his #ThrowdownThursday and #TakeFlightTuesday series.
He also posts videos of his shooting and ball-handling routines, which may not be as impressive as a free-throw line dunk, but he’d certainly be a top pick-up game choice at your local YMCA.
