Try to follow along.

With five minutes gone in the second half, White denied Michigan’s Ricky Doyle of a layup with a strong block. White decided to let Doyle know, and one of the referees assessed him a technical foul.

Ttwo possessions later, White received a pass on the baseline and threw down a slam dunk, but decided to hang on the rim.

White was assessed a technical foul on both plays, so he should have ejected from the contest, right? Not exactly. White was assessed a Class A technical foul for unsportsmanlike conduct and a Class B technical foul for hanging on the rim when he was not trying to protect himself.

According to Rule 10, Section 6 of the NCAA rule book, a player is ejected after amassing one of the following combinations: two Class A technical fouls, one Class A and two Class B technical fouls, or three Class B technical fouls.

Since White collected one Class A and one Class B technical foul, he was allowed to remain in the contest.

Did you follow all that?

Confusing. We know.
