Iowa State fell to 3-8 and 2-6 in Big 12 play with Saturday’s loss at Kansas State. The Cyclones blew a 21-point halftime lead and allowed K-State to score two touchdowns in the final 42 seconds to win 38-35. The Cyclones fumbled eight times and lost four of them en route to the loss.

Rhoads was 32-54 in seven seasons in Ames and never recorded a winning record after his first year (ISU was 7-6 with an Insight Bowl victory).

The Cyclones finish the season Saturday at West Virginia.
