Driver is no stranger to the SNL stage, as he had hosted the program in 2016 and 2018. He appeared in sketches such as “The Coffee Shop,” “Career Day,” “80s Party” and “Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base,” for which he reprised his role as villain Kylo Ren from the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
In the latest SNL promo video ahead of Saturday’s show, Driver appears to be thrilled to arrive at the famous Studio 8H—where SNL is filmed inside of New York City’s Rockefeller Center. His excitement, however, is nearly shattered when he realizes no one has prepared for his appearance. In fact, the studio is still trashed from the holidays, so he’ll have no choice but to clean it himself.
“You clean,” a woman instructs Driver in the clip.
“No, I’m actually hosting this week,” Driver responds, before reluctantly picking up a Christmas tree and taking it outside the building for pickup.
Driver’s appearance on SNL comes on the heels of the 92nd Academy Awards on February 9. The 36-year-old actor picked up his second Oscar nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category for the Netflix-nominated film Marriage Story, and will be competing against fellow contenders Antonio Banderas, Joaquin Phoenix, Jonathan Pryce and Leonardo DiCaprio. Driver was previously nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2019 Oscars for BlacKkKlansman; Mahershala Ali took that award for his role in Green Book.

Who is performing?
In addition to Driver, Halsey will make her return to SNL. The pop singer made waves when she served double duty as host and performer on the show last year. This time around, she’ll likely be belting out songs from her third album, Maniac, which was released earlier this month.
When does SNL air?
The sketch comedy will return to NBC at its usual time slot of 11:30 p.m. ET.
Can you live stream SNL?
No need to worry about missing SNL if you don’t have access to a television. The show can still be viewed via live stream on NBC’s website and app, although a cable provider login is needed to access the stream. Those with Hulu + Live subscriptions can tune into the episode on the streaming platform, as well as YouTube Live customers.
All the best sketches and skits of the night will be available for viewing on SNL’s YouTube following the show. Fans can always keep up with all the SNL chatter online by following the hashtag #SNL.
