By the dawn the big day, many people will understandably wish to treat themselves to their favorite coffee in a famous Starbucks red cup.
However, with many restaurants, cafes and retail stores shutting their doors on Christmas Day, some caffeine fans will be unsure whether their local Starbucks will be open at all on December 25 this year.
Starbucks told Newsweek customers should check individual outlets to see whether their local is open on December 25.
The Seattle-based coffee chain said: “Store hours vary by location and stores may occasionally adjust their hours based on business and customer needs. We recommend customers look for specific store hours using the Starbucks app or by visiting our website store locator.
“The Starbucks app continues to be the best way for customers to find a store, check store hours, order ahead and use contactless payment.”
Starbucks, which boasts more than 18,000 stores in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, has released its eagerly-anticipated holiday 2021 range of beverages and gifts ahead of Christmas Day.
Starbucks Red Holiday Cups
Christmas gifts were the apparent inspiration for this year’s Starbucks red cup design, featuring an array of colorful geometric patterns referencing wrapping paper, ribbons and festive lights in the various designs.
Suzie Reecer, Starbucks associate creative director, said in a statement: “Starbucks red cups are a portal to holiday joy.
“Any time you’re holding the cup, we hope that it’s just filling you with the excitement of the season and reconnecting with friends and family.”
Starbucks Christmas Drinks range
Starbucks also unveiled its latest holiday-inspired drink, its Iced Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte, in time for Christmas.
Erin Marinan, product development manager for Starbucks R&D, said in a statement: “Almond is used quite a bit in baking. The almond flavor from the almond milk makes for a natural pairing with the nutty notes in Starbucks Blonde Espresso.
“We also wanted to harness the buttery and vanilla notes of the cookie, which you can pick up in the aroma from that first sip from the sugar cookie flavored syrup and sprinkles. It reminds me of making cookies with my mom and sisters growing up. It gives me all the nostalgic feels of the holiday.”
The following Starbucks beverages are also back by popular demand for the holiday season.

Starbucks is not the only cafe franchise keeping some stores open on Christmas Day 2021.
Dunkin’ Donuts
Although many Dunkin’ Donut stores will be open for business on Christmas Day, customers are advised to confirm their locals exact opening hours ahead of December 25.
A spokesperson told Country Living: “Dunkin’ store hours vary by location. While many Dunkin’ locations will be open on Christmas, we encourage our guests to check the Dunkin’ Mobile App to confirm if their local store is open before visiting.”
Newsweek will update this article as the largest coffee outlets respond to Christmas Day opening hours requests.
