Twitter users became excited when an image was shared of a snack box, including 10 chicken nuggets, a medium fries, one cheeseburger and one small soft drink. The supposed ad showed that this meal would cost $2.
One user, @BrownNuisance, said: “It’s no way Burger King is a real place.” Others questioned how the fast food chain would make money from the deal, with others asking for the ad to be verified.
Burger King is known for its deals, with the Whopper currently $1 on Wednesdays, but even this discount seemed too good to be true.
On its Twitter page, the brand retweeted @BrownNuisance saying: “the app deals are for real tho” and linked to their mobile app.
According to its website, Burger King currently has a snack box for $3 which includes the same meal items as listed above. This could be the mystery solved as there also seems to be a variety of deals such as $1 large french fries and deals for new app users.
However, to add fuel to the flame-grill, Burger King posted a further tweet saying only “$2”.
Very cryptic indeed.
