It’s an unfair double-standard often brought up by fans. But players know the game all too well, and when they feel like they’ve been betrayed, it often leads to hurt feelings. That appears to be the case with Thomas, who spoke about his Boston exit in a candid interview with SI’s Lee Jenkins.

Thomas admits he doesn’t view Celtics GM and President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge in a positive light anymore. After the trade to Cleveland happened, Thomas couldn’t believe Ainge had it in him to pull the trigger.

From Sports Illustrated:

The Celtics and Cavs play opening night of the NBA season, but Thomas won’t be playing due to his injury. Still, it’s pretty remarkable Thomas is so open with his feelings about Ainge. Outside of him, though, it appears Thomas is ready to move on.

He told Jenkins he plans on 2017 being the, “best year of my career."
