The Chennai-based side practised in Chennai for 10 days under the watchful eyes of coach John Gregory before leaving for Thailand. Earlier this month Chennaiyin FC announced the signing of Tony Warner as their goalkeeping coach for the 2017-18 campaign of the Indian Super League. Warner joins head coach John Gregory’s coaching staff which already includes assistant coaches Mark Lillis and Syed Sabir Pasha and sports scientist Niall Clark.

The Super Machans have played five pre-season games so far, of which they’ve lost two, won two and drawn one.

In their last pre-season encounter, they took on fellow ISL rivals FC Pune City in a closed-doors match and were held to a 2-2 draw. 

They kick off their tournament against FC Goa at the Marina Arena on November 19.
