Sporting News’ Ross Tucker says the Niners (1-2), who face the unbeaten Eagles at home, need a win more than any other NFL team this weekend. They can’t afford to fall further behind the Seahawks and Cardinals in the NFC West.

Philadelphia is the first team to start a season 3-0 after trailing by at least 10 points in each of those games. The Niners, on the other hand, have blown leads the past two weeks. Win against the Eagles, however, and the panic meter can be lowered in San Francisco.

“It would restart everything,” Tucker says.

Conversely, if they lose they second straight at home?

“They’ll be booed off the field if they play that poorly again in front of the home crowd,” Tucker says.
