Texans defensive end Jadevon Clowney, who missed most of his rookie season in 2014 with a knee injury, was informed coach Bill O’Brien believes Clowney will be ready to go in Week 1 against the Chiefs. It would be Clowney’s first live action since Nov. 23.

Clowney, the first overall pick in last year’s NFL Draft, looked somewhat surprised after hearing of O’Brien’s expectations.
“Oh, Bill said that, huh?” Clowney said before whistling in shock and regrouping. “It’s pretty good. I’m working hard, coming out here with the team. We doing good. I’m feeling good. Just trying to keep working, and get better and better every day.”
Clowney recorded 129 tackles, 47 for loss, and 24 sacks in three years at South Carolina.
