Goodell is under heavy scrutiny for the way he handled former Baltimore Raven running back Ray Rice’s domestic violence scandal and ensuing suspension. Harrison’s distaste towards Goodell has long been documented. He once called the commissioner a “crook and a puppet,” among other things.
This time, Harrison compared Goodell to former President Richard Nixon:
In 2008, Harrison was arrested for hitting his girlfriend, but the domestic violence charges were dropped after he agreed to domestic abuse counseling.
While a lot of people are calling for the commissioner’s resignation, I don’t think anyone would be happier than James Harrison if Goodell does end up stepping down.
