Mercier joins a growing list of poker stars to who have collected bracelet victories this summer in Vegas. Although poker does provide an opportunity for even the newest of all amateurs to win, Mercier, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Alaei, Brian Hastings, Jeff Madsen, John Gale and Robert Mizrachi are a few of the big name pros who have added to their already impressive resumes so far this summer.
While over 30 events are in the books, we still are a few weeks away from the start of the $10,000 buy-in Main Event, which kicks off the day after Independence Day on July 5th. You can bet that many in the poker world will have their eyes locked on Mercier and other pros as they all hope for a deep run … and to book a ticket to Las Vegas come November as the Main Event final table is set to unfold live on ESPN.
