The actress’ father, John Aniston, died on November 11, 2022.

Alongside her moving post, Aniston shared photos of herself with her father when she was just a newborn, as well as images of the pair in recent years.

At the end of the post there was a photo of him smiling straight at the camera.

Aniston wrote: “Sweet papa…John Anthony Aniston .

You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace - and without pain. And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time.”

She ended her post with the words: “Don’t forget to visit.”

Several famous faces offered their love and support to Aniston in the comment section, including The Flight Attendant’s Kaley Cuoco, Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, Twin Peak’s star Naomi Watts, and comedian Chelsea Handler.

Aniston’s ex-husband Justin Theroux also commented with a love heart emoji on the post.

Who Was John Aniston?

Just like his daughter, John Aniston had a successful acting career.

He was best known for his role as Victor Kiriakis on the NBC drama, Days of Our Lives.

John Aniston landed the role in 1985 and had played the role ever since, receiving a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022 for his performance.

Following the news of his passing, Days of Our Lives posted a tribute video of his time on the long-running series.

In a statement to accompany the video shared on Instagram and Twitter, Days of Our Lives posted: “Our hearts are broken over the loss of our beloved family member John Aniston.

“We love you, John. Your legend will live on.”

Born on July 24, 1933, John Aniston was named Yannis Anastassakis in Chania, Greece, the son of parents Stella Joanne Koume and Antonios Anastassakis.

When he was two years old, the family left Greece for the United States, settling in Chester, Pennsylvania.

After graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts, John Aniston served in the U.S. Navy as an intelligence officer.

John Aniston also starred in Love of Life as Eddie Aleata and as Martin Tourneur in Search for Tomorrow. He had small roles in Gilmore Girls as Douglas Swope, played Alexander Thompson in The West Wing, and Wallace Harriman in Mad Men.

In 1969, John Aniston and his wife Nancy Dow became parents to their daughter, Jennifer. He then had a son, Alexander, with his second wife, Sherry Rooney.

Jennifer Aniston appeared virtually at the Daytime Emmy’s 2022 in June to accept her father’s lifetime achievement award on his behalf.

She said: “This is truly a special moment for me. It’s an opportunity to not only pay tribute to a true icon in the daytime television world, but it’s also a chance to recognize the lifelong achievements of a great and well-respected actor, who also happens to be my dad.”
